Groot used to say a lot more


Groot’s early appearances in Marvel Comics show him as the Monster from Planet X. In these early comics Groot had a much more advanced vocabulary than the hero in the MCU movies.
Groot in Tales To Astonish
On the cover of Tales To Astonish Groot is seen to say “Behold! I am Groot The Invincible. Who Dares Defy me?” Which is clearly more than the three word phrase he is currently known to repeat.
Groot The Monster From Planet X in the 1976 Incredible Hulk Annual
In the 1976 Incredible Hulk Annual, we see Groot appear again with a lot more to say.
And More recently in “Annihilation Conquest: Star-Lord”, 2007 we see Groot speaking in complete sentences.
