Rocket has grown in popularity in recent years due to his appearance in the recent Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy movies. This is impressive, especially when you consider the lack of publicity when he was first introduced.
The character only appeared in 10 Marvel publications during his first three decades of existence. He made his debut in the black and white magazine Marvel Preview in the summer of 1976.
